Mekelle University organized a Project Launching Consultative Workshop for "Specialized Legal Aid and Psychosocial Support" (LA-PSS) in Tigray. This project, focusing on providing specialized free legal aid and psychosocial support services to vulnerable communities, particularly women, girls, youth, internally displaced persons (IDPs), and people with disabilities, addresses critical needs in the region.
The workshop served as a platform to officially introduce and kickstart the project, fostering discussions and collaboration with various stakeholders and implementing partners. The participation of representatives from justice organs, social affairs bureaus, youth and sports bureaus, associations, health bureaus, religious councils, and academic institutions like Mekelle University signifies a comprehensive approach to addressing the challenges faced by the target community.
The engagement of a diverse set of stakeholders indeed enriches the project's scope and enhances its potential for success. The constructive recommendations and expressed commitments to support the project's implementation demonstrate a unified effort towards achieving the set goals.
It's encouraging to see the emphasis on considering and incorporating feedback from workshop participants to ensure the effective realization of the project objectives. Mekelle University's collaboration with the consultative team and stakeholders highlights a shared vision for positive impact and sustainable support for the community in Tigray.
The combined efforts and shared dedication showcased during the workshop underscore a promising start for the LA-PSS project, reflecting a commitment to providing essential services and support to marginalized groups in Tigray.
