Mekelle University Installs Wind Masts for Renewable Energy Research
Mekelle University, through its Ethiopian Institute of Technology-Mekelle (EiT-M), has installed two advanced wind masts at the Main Campus (24m) and Mekoni Farm (30m) as part of the "Renewable Energy Technology Transfer" project, funded by the Ministry of Innovation and Technology.
These installations are designed to collect critical meteorological data, including wind speed, direction, temperature, humidity, and solar radiation. The data will drive wind energy resource assessments and agricultural research, demonstrating the university’s commitment to advancing renewable energy technology and sustainable development in Ethiopia.
