In a landmark collaboration between Mekelle University and the University of Bologna in Italy, a specialized training program was recently hosted at the College of Veterinary Sciences at Mekelle University. Renowned Veterinary Surgeon, Professor Alessandro Spadari, led this groundbreaking initiative. The program took place from September 15-20, 2024, with the primary goal of preparing graduating Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) students for their national exit exams.
Throughout the intensive training sessions, participants were immersed in a wide array of practical surgical procedures crucial for veterinary practice. They had the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in various areas including general surgery, Cesarean sections (CS), spaying, ovariohysterectomy, wound treatment, and male animal castration. This program not only aimed to enhance the surgical skills and knowledge of the students but also provided essential training for college surgeon instructors and clinic staff.
Guided by the expertise of Prof. Spadari, participants were able to hone their techniques and acquire invaluable clinical experience during the training program.
