 Empowering Women Leaders: Workshop on DUBARTE's Role in Strengthening Intragroup Relationships Held in Maichew.
Today, September 7, 2024, Mekelle University College of Law and Governance in collaboration with USAID/OTI-ESP conduct an advocacy workshop on the roles of DUBARTIE (Women leaders) in enhancing intragroup relationship. The one day workshop, held in Maichiew, with around 42 participants coming from different areas representing Dubartie, Abo Gerebs, Religious leaders, Government and non government institutions. In the one day workshop, representatives from MU College of Law and Governance and USAID/OTI _ESP made speech on the importance's of women lead customary institutions in sustaining peace and justice. Besides, research on the roles, gaps and challenges of Dubartie is presented by MU_CLG Centre for Citizenship and Public Service Ethics and a productive discussion held on it. Participants appreciate the recognition of such women based and customary institutions and requested for continuity and sustainability of such efforts by both government and non government actors.
