August 19, 2024. In order to advance within Mekelle University and better serve the realm of work and social services, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signing ceremony took place between the Ethiopian Institute of Technology-Mekelle (EIT-M) and the Mekelle University Institute of Mind-set Education (MU-IME) at the MU-IME premises.
The attendees included the scientific director of EIT-M, Dr. Haddush Goitom; the director of MU-IME, Dr. Shi Yong Sheng; the director of student services, Dr. Kesatie Legesse; the director of IPS, Dr. Mulugeta Tsegay, and other relevant personnel responsible for the signing ceremony. Mr. Ephrem Seyfu, the director of Alumni Affairs, graciously hosted the meeting.

It was duly noted by all participants that mind-set education will support and propel the developmental processes within higher education. Following the signing of the MoU, both parties expressed their intention to promptly commence staff and student training, draw in potential trainees and postgraduate candidates, create training manuals and curricula, engage in research and community involvement, foster partnerships and international collaboration, tap into talent pools, and promote social services over the next five years. They aspire to nurture a partnership founded on mutual respect and cooperation, fostering a mutually beneficial research environment.
We extend our best wishes to both institutes for achieving more fruitful outcomes together, thereby collectively advancing higher education and steering Ethiopian academia towards new horizons.
