Mekelle university's collegeof health sciences strengthens with international ties with Rwanda!
A high level delegation from the college of health sciences mekelle university led by president Dr.Fana Hagos conducted an international visit to Rwanda. The visit, part of the college's internationalization strategy was organized by the college of health sciences and Dr.Zerihun Abebe, the former dean and current CEO of King faisel hospital, Rwanda.

The team visited King faisel hospital, college of health sciences, university of Rwanda and ministry of health, Rwanda and gained insights into efficient & effective hospital administration, income generation , capacity building and the establishment of centers of excellences, which would be used as a benchmark in the college of health sciences and our university at large. Key agreements were reached, including:
*. A partnership with king faisel hospital for staff capacity building, launching
pain free delivery in Ayder comprehensive specialized hospital and establishing new clinical centers (Example, a ketamine center for treating depression, PTSD and anxiety- critical needs in Tigray's post-war recovery.
*. A consensus with the Ministry of health, Rwanda to host undergradiate, postgraduate,residency and fellowship students in our college of health sciences.This agreement supports Rwanda's ''4×4'' initiative to quadraple its health workforce within four years and addressing the critical shortage of health professionals.

The visit marks a significant step in fostering cross-boarder academic and health care collaboration with long-term benefits for both nations health sector.
